Side-dump cars are a type of open rail freight car that could unload goods by self-dumping. They are usually used to lay ballast during railway construction and maintenance or transport ore, stripped rock, gravel, coal block, building materials, etc.

The KF60AK side-dump car is a 4-axle railroad freight car with a loading capacity of 60 metric tons. This car can be used to carry iron ore, ballast, coal or other bulk goods on the standard gauge (1435mm) railroads.

The cargo carrier of the side-dump car can be tilted to any side for 45°under the action of the hydraulic cylinders set on both sides of the car body, and the side walls can be lowered down for the convenience of goods unloading.

KF60A Features:

1. The main parts of the car body are manufactured with high-strength weather-resistant cold-formed section steel, which enhances the car body strength while reducing the tare weight.

2. The folding mechanism of the side door is improved, and is made of B-grade cast steel to make it more durable.

3. H-beam is used in the underframe middle beam, which reduces the welding deformation and simplifies the manufacturing process.

4. The side-dumping assembly is composed of the pipeline system, hydraulic cylinders, and side door control mechanism. The pipeline system consists of pipes, air storage tank, and various valves. Through the control valve, the compressed air enters the cylinder to jack up the car for unloading.

5. The cylinder adopts a two-stage piston structure, which is composed of inner and outer pistons, piston rod, and top iron. The inner and outer pistons of cast iron are sealed with rubber cups and pressure rings.

6. 13A type top acting coupler and coupler yoke made of grade C steel and MT-2 type buffer are adopted. The coupler yoke bracket and coupler joist are fastened with FS type lock nut and 10.9 grade high strength bolts.
